Introduction to Ayurveda!

Judy Knight has been practicing yoga for over 30 years. A Certified Yoga Instructor, Judy has been teaching yoga for 18 years and has studied in the traditions of Iyengar, Sivananda, and Desikachar.
Since 2014, Judy has expanded her studies to include Ayurveda – the Science of Life – and in 2017 she graduated from the American Institute of Vedic Studies under David Frawley as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant. Judy continues her studies at the Wise Earth School of Ayurveda with Maya Tawari and also at the Dogwood School of Botanical Medicine with Todd Caldecott. “My life has been greatly enriched by Yoga and Ayurveda and I am committed to sharing this ancient healing wisdom so that others may also benefit”.
What will you learn?
1. Introduction to Ayurveda. A short history and general overview of Ayurveda.
The “Science of Life” includes recommendations for health and balance in every aspect of life.
2. Understanding body type. The five elements and the make-up of the Doshas – an explanation of Prakrati (constitution). Participants will take a short quiz to gain insight into their own individual constitution.
3. How to stay balanced and in health. Recommended daily and seasonal routines including healthy eating habits, exercise, self-care and sleep

Participants are invited to enjoy an Ayurvedic tea recommended for their individual type and will leave with a list of suggested food
